Oda Nobunaga

A Sengoku-period daimyo, Nobunaga began the unification of Japan with massed arquebuses, deposed the Ashikaga shogunate, massacred the warrior monks of Enryaku-ji and the Ikko-ikki, abolished guilds and tolls, and tolerated Jesuit missionaries.
