Amílcar Cabral
Leader of the PAIGC, Cabral led the armed struggle for independence of Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde against Portugal, joining Marxism, African nationalism and the analysis of culture. He urged the petty bourgeoisie's 'class suicide'. He was assassinated in 1973.
