Kingdom of Nepal

A Hindu monarchy founded by Prithvi Narayan Shah in 1768, the Kingdom of Nepal resisted the East India Company, passed through hereditary Rana rule and absolute monarchy until 1990 and was abolished in 2008, at the end of the Maoist civil war.
