Welfare Party (Refah)

Turkish Islamist party of Erbakan that won the 1995 elections and led the coalition government (1996–97). It advocated an interest-free economy, ties with the Muslim world and more room for Islam in public life, until it was dissolved in 1998 for violating secularism.
